About Sue

Following graduation from the University of Detroit Mercy Clinical Psychology program, I was and continue to be Licensed to practice by the State of Michigan.  Through advanced training and experience providing therapy since 1993,  I specialized in the effective treatment of stress, anxiety, panic disorder, psychological trauma, PTSD, depression, domestic violence, women's issues, and Critical Incident Stress Management.

In addition to being an effective anxiety therapist, I have presented at national conferences and to general audiences speaking on topics such as Psychological Trauma, Substance Abuse, & Relapse; Skills Training for Trauma Survivors; Childhood Trauma; Workplace Violence; Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault; Critical Incident Stress Debriefing; Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation of Vulnerable Adults; and the Legal Limitations of Adult Protective Services.

I am an interactive, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, Christian Limited Licensed Psychologist and Life-Coach. My therapeutic approach has been to provide a supportive environment, stabilize symptoms, provide skills training, discuss problems and challenges, and assist patients addressing issues that brought them into treatment.   I developed particular treatment strategies over the years for stress, anxiety, anxiety attacks, worry, psychological trauma, depression, and women's issues that have proven to be effective.

I have started reducing my in-office therapy practice, to take my experience and additional training into the Coaching arena.  I've found over the past several years most patients needed more coaching than anything else.  Whether it was coaching individuals in assertiveness, healthy boundaries, anxiety or stress reduction, relationships, children, employment, and starting a new business it was extremely rewarding.  Prior to beginning this transition, I began coaching other therapists on starting their private practice and treating psychological trauma.

I expect to maintain my license to practice psychology in Michigan.
